"Blitz" checks in Vlora prison, here's what was found in the cells

The Operational Forces carried out an action today in the Vlora detention center. They carried out detailed checks inside the detention facilities.
Through a statement, the General Directorate of Prisons stated that the control was carried out by the Operational and Special Forces, in cooperation with the Security Group forces from the Durrës, Elbasan, Fier and Berat Penitentiaries.
The search was conducted in 58 rooms and common areas. The announcement states that 3 televisions and 1 unsealed digital camera were seized, as well as prohibited items produced in an artisanal manner.
"Following the surprise checks to increase security in penitentiary institutions, today, on 25.04.2026, a check was carried out at the Vlora Penitentiary Institution.
During the inspection, the internal and external regime were verified, including 58 rooms and common areas.
From the control carried out, 3 televisions and 1 unsealed digital camera were seized for re-control, and prohibited items produced in an artisanal manner were found and seized.
"The General Directorate of Prisons will continue surprise checks in all penitentiary institutions, with the aim of guaranteeing order, security and respect for the rule of law," the announcement states.
