Murder of former Kurdish sniper in England, 40-year-old Albanian arrested in Brussels! Wanted and...

Six years after the brutal killing of former Kurdish sniper Hemawand Ali Hussain in Hartlepool, British authorities have charged another Albanian in connection with the case. He is 40-year-old Sajmir Dodoveci, who was arrested in Brussels in December last year.
Dodoveci was arrested on December 23 at a train station in Brussels as part of a joint investigation between Cleveland Police, the National Crime Agency (NCA) and international partners. He was extradited to the United Kingdom this week.
He is accused of murdering 32-year-old Hussain, who was shot dead at close range inside a flat on Charterhouse Road in September 2019. The 40-year-old appeared before Teesside Magistrates' Court on January 9 and was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Crown Court on January 13.
Earlier, Eugert Merizaj was also sentenced to life imprisonment for this event, while the other three (Noza Saffari, Dorian Pirija and Qazim Marku) were convicted in January 2021 of manslaughter. More specifically, Noza Saffari was sentenced to 15 years in prison, Dorian Pirija and Qazim Marku were sentenced to 19 years each.
Another suspect, 34, was arrested in Belgium in February 2024 and is expected to be extradited to face justice.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Armando Marku, also wanted in the murder, remains at large. British police have appealed for public assistance, stressing that international investigations are ongoing and that authorities are determined to bring all those involved to justice.
