Greece seizes 54 kilograms of cocaine worth 2.35 million euros in a container of bananas

A significant amount of cocaine was seized in a container of bananas, originating from Ecuador and destined for Piraeus, as part of a joint inspection operation by inspectors from AADE and SDOE of Attica.
More specifically, during the inspection at the 3rd customs office of Piraeus with a self-propelled X-ray vehicle, a suspicious organic substance was discovered in the external cooling mechanism of the container. After the positive indication by the KYBERR drug dog, a physical inspection followed, during which 45 packages of cocaine were seized, with a total gross weight of 54 kilograms. The value of the seized cocaine is estimated at around 2.35 million euros.
The investigation is continuing and a possible connection of the case to other similar cases is being examined, as part of efforts to dismantle an international drug import and trafficking network.
