
Powerful storms hit the United States, 16 people die! Tornado warnings issued in several countries


At least 16 people are reported to have died from powerful storms across the United States.
Authorities in Missouri say 10 people died there, with three more deaths reported in Arkansas and three more in car accidents amid dust storms in Texas.
About 138 million people are at risk of severe weather in the central and southern US states.
Tornado warnings have been issued for parts of Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Indiana and Kentucky.
In Missouri, where a state of emergency was declared on Friday, they are forecast to reach EF2 on the tornado strength scale, which requires wind speeds between 113 mph and 157 mph.

Hail the size of baseballs was reported in Christian County, the U.S. weather service said.
Up to six inches of snow is expected in western Minnesota and far eastern South Dakota, the National Weather Service said.
