Trump orders US Navy to destroy any boat that lays mines in the Strait of Hormuz!

US President Donald Trump has said he has ordered the US Navy to "shoot and kill" any ship that mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement on his social network "Truth", the US president claimed that his "mine sweepers" are "taking care of the strait now".

There are allegations that Iran has mined the crucial waterway, although this has not been confirmed.

If it did, it would threaten to block traffic through the strait – which in peacetime is responsible for a fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas – in the long term, further damaging the global economy.
