Trump promises safety for ships in the Strait of Hormuz: It will happen very soon!

US President Donald Trump promised "great security" for oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz, as Tehran tightened its grip on the vital sea passage amid the US-Israeli war with Tehran.

"I think you're going to see excellent security and it's going to happen very, very quickly," Trump told reporters at the White House when asked how he would ensure security on the waterway crucial to global oil trade.

The Strait of Hormuz has been engulfed by numerous tensions since the start of hostilities between the US and Israel with Iran, with the latter warning of tightening measures for the passage of tankers, also affecting fuel prices.
