President Trump: The war with Iran will be over soon, there is nothing left to

United States President Donald Trump stated in a telephone interview with Axios that the war with Iran is expected to end "soon," emphasizing that military operations have almost exhausted potential targets to strike.

"There are very few targets left, here and there. When I want it to end, it will end," the American president emphasized.

However, despite Trump's statements that the operations have essentially achieved their objectives, officials from the United States and Israel are reported to have said that no internal guidance has yet been given on when military action will cease.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared that the operations would continue "without time limit, for as long as necessary, until all objectives are achieved and a decisive victory is secured."

At the same time, Trump confirmed that Tuesday's (March 10) US strikes destroyed 16 floating vessels used to lay naval mines, which - according to him - has disrupted Iran's plans.

"US forces continue to exert overwhelming military power against the Iranian regime. US military power is growing, while Iran's is weakening," he declared, adding that Iranian missile and drone attacks have decreased significantly.

Trump also stressed that operations are progressing faster than initially anticipated.

"The war is going extremely well. We are well ahead of schedule. We have caused more damage than we thought possible even in the initial six-week plan," he said.

In conclusion, the American president added that Iran is paying for the consequences of its policies over the years.

"Their target was the rest of the Middle East. Now they are paying for 47 years of death and destruction they have caused. This is revenge. They will not get away with it that easily," Trump concluded.
