Julián Álvarez has made a drastic decision for his career off the pitch: the Argentine striker has ended his collaboration with his agent, Fernando Hidalgo, after almost a decade.

The main cause of this rift is directly related to the failure of his transfer to Barcelona during the summer transfer window. According to Spanish media, "Merimanga" was not at all satisfied with the way his agent managed the situation. The transfer to the Catalan club was a great desire of the player, and the failure to realize this operation also brought the end of the relationship between them.

This decision has been well received by Atletico Madrid's management. The capital club had openly expressed its dissatisfaction with the player's entourage, with executive director Miguel Angel Gil Marin stating that some individuals were giving the Argentine the wrong advice.
