"I love the protest, I love Dua Lipa", Rama ironically from Brussels: She is a singer, not the Pope

"I love the protest, I love Duan," said Prime Minister Edi Rama, speaking about the protests against the development and environmental conservation project. Rama was referring to Albanian singer Dua Lipa.

Rama said he does not see it as necessary to choose between development and conservation, arguing that both can coexist.

He also spoke about the reactions to the protests, the government's engagement with the protesters, and the "intelligent review" that, according to him, will publish documents and data about the project.

When you listen to Dua Lipa, can you say it's an element of propaganda?!

Rama: She is proud of the protest, I am proud of her. It is ideology when you say either development or conservation. Dua likes the protest, I love Dua very much. She is a singer, she is not the Pope. I like the Pope, but I do not agree with everything the Pope says.

10 years ago, protesters were more likely to be killed on the boulevard where they go out every night. I have had to live with the loss of lives of people who protested with me.

I come from the protesters' side myself, I have risked my life for free speech. And I said to myself: 'You are on this side, but they always have a reason.' It is tempting to say that every time the protesters take to the streets they are right and the government, when attacked, is wrong. This saga will end in a great way for both sides. If the science says it should not be touched… it is not a personal battle. We will publish everything we have and the mirror will include everything new.
