Agriculture in contraction for the fifth consecutive year, main reason is lack of support
The lack of real support from the state remains the main reason why agriculture experiences successive crises and abandonment by farmers. In the speeches of government leaders, it is mentioned as a national priority, but on the ground subsidies are insufficient and many small farmers are unable to receive oil or lek in their accounts.
For the fifth consecutive year, the sector experienced a decline in production, proving that bureaucratic procedures, lack of information, and unfair competition are killing all promises of market regulation.
Even the goal of reaching 1 billion euros in agricultural exports by 2030 from 500 million today seems ambitious, as long as European Union countries refuse to accept our products, which do not meet standards, because they lack processing capacities.
The Ministry of Agriculture has a budget of 135 million euros to manage the sector. With progressive annual growth and grant and subsidy schemes, the amount dedicated to farmers and livestock farms reaches 250 million euros this year, expecting that these support policies will have concrete results, but that it will be difficult to overturn the reality that accompanies the abandonment of lands and the voice of farmers.
