Analysis/ The unity around Berisha makes both the DP and the opposition smaller

Ermal Hasimja is trying to create a climate of dialogue between the new opposition parties and Berisha's Democratic Party to unite the opposition. Since the attempt at dialogue is irreproachable, we must be clear about the objective of the dialogue.

In the failed tradition of 35 years of the DP, the objective of an internal opposition dialogue aims to unite all opposition voices around Berisha. If this is the objective again, then the result will be worse than now. The reason is not only the fact that the DP has tried this for 35 years in a row in Albania, as many times as Berisha crushes the DP with exclusions or hostile groups.

The problem is that uniting around Berisha makes both the DP and the opposition smaller.
It's like adding a number with a negative valence to other numbers.

The only place where a real dialogue process is taking place is within the DP. Ervin Salianji has started a dialogue process with the Democrats that is many times more sympathetic than Berisha's pulpits. At least no crazy people go there. Those who go talk about real and experienced things and want to solve the problem they have with Sali Berisha. So, the DP is involved in a real dialogue process, with a naturalness and legitimacy that stems from the participation and quality of the democrats who participate. They are not licensed to dialogue, but they gather in large city halls, fill them up and talk about real things.

This genuine dialogue process between the DP and the Democrats has enraged Sali Berisha and those Sejm members behind him and have declared Ervin Salianji "self-excluded" for "crossing red lines."

So, the only real dialogue process happening within the opposition is the one being led by Salianji and being rejected by Berisha's leadership.

Now how can Berisha be asked to dialogue with people excluded from the DP, or other parties, when he is introducing the DP into a new process of division and exclusion, poisoning any hope of the Democrats to be empowered through dialogue?

To sit down at the table with Berisha and Arian Starova or Artur Rroshi, there is no need for a mediator. They just want a bell for coffee, because they are unemployed and the electorate does not "bother" them to drink coffee. Dialogue is necessary where there is real debate, and real debate is now within the DP, not between the DP and Lapaj or Shehaj. Lapaj and Shehaj have their own parties and agreements are made with the parties, there is no dialogue. If you are interested, you take them into the coalition, if you are not interested, you do not take them.

Dialogue takes place within the family when you have a problem and the DP is at the peak of an internal dialogue, while Berisha is at the peak of intolerance towards this dialogue, announcing the exclusion of the person who leads that dialogue.

Now let the "blood feud reconcilers" start a dialogue with Berisha because he wants to expel from the DP a man who is developing a dialogue within the DP for its own good. This is the only problem that the real opposition dialogue with Sali Berisha is facing today in the opposition. The others do not need dialogue.

Replacing a genuine political dialogue that has begun within the DP with a dialogue between opposition parties is like reconciling a country that has broken apart into a civil war with its peaceful neighbors, only to make it seem as if the cause of the civil war is the man of peace.

The political dialogue in the opposition is in crisis under Sali Berisha. It has been like this for 35 years. The number of "politically shot" by him is many times greater than the number of the National Council of the Democratic Party of Albania today.

For the DP to come to power, it must reconcile with the Albanian society, which has divorced Sali Berisha, not with two or three people who have been angry with Sali Berisha in recent years. And for the opposition to reconcile with this large part of Albanian society and become a majority in the country, it must try it once without Sali Berisha.

With Sali Berisha, he has tried for 35 years and it has not worked. He always has the same scheme. At first he expels you from the DP, then, if you join a party, he calls you to the queue to kneel behind him again. This makes no sense to repeat, except for those who are brainless. When the opposition kneels Sali Berisha and puts him in the queue behind it, then it makes sense to talk about dialogue between his victims, who refuse to vote for the opposition just because of him./Topic
