DIVA 2024 was completed by 127.3 thousand individuals, 10% less than the obligation

The annual income declaration for 2024 was submitted by 127.3 thousand individuals out of 143.3 thousand who were required to declare, or 90%. The number of declarants has increased by 61.4 thousand compared to the DIVA 2023 declarations.
"DIVA 2024 out of 143,369 individuals who had to declare, 127,381 individuals declared. DIVA 2023 out of 73,850 individuals who had to declare, 65,910 individuals declared. The Tax Administration invites individuals who have not yet declared to make the DIVA declaration as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary fines and interests," the tax administration's announcement states.
The deadline for submitting the DIVA 2024 was April 1 (the last deadline was March 31, but due to the Eid al-Fitr holiday it was postponed). The categories that are required to complete the DIVA 2024 are individuals with gross annual income over 1.2 million lek per year, up from over 2 million lek which was the previous limit.
The threshold for the obligation to declare for employees in Albania was lowered after the entry into force of the law "On Income Tax".
The obligation to submit the 2024 DIVA is also for individuals if during 2024 they have earned income of more than 50,000 lek, for which no tax was withheld (e.g. a rental to unregistered individuals, as a daily rent or from Booking, AirBnB platforms, etc.) regardless of the annual total gross income earned from salary.
For individuals who are in an employment relationship with more than one employer, the method of completing and submitting the DIVA 2024 did not change. Therefore, dual employees will continue to be required to complete the declaration regardless of whether they reach the limit of 1.2 million lek per year or have earned income below this level./ Monitor
