NAMES/ Investigations into the cocaine laboratory in Fier, SPAK requests the confiscation of assets worth over €2 million

The Special Prosecution Office, SPAK, has completed the investigations and sent to court the property proceedings against Nikolin Gjolena, Klevent Gjolena and six other people associated with them, as part of the investigations into the cocaine laboratory discovered in Frakull, Fier.
The prosecution is seeking the confiscation of 16 real estate properties in Tirana and Durrës, with a market value of over 2 million euros.
According to SPAK, property investigations have revealed that the assets subject to the confiscation request are in the direct or indirect possession of Nikolin and Klevent Gjolena, their family members and other persons related to them.
16 real estate properties have been identified in their name, specifically 3 apartments and 2 garages in Tirana, as well as 3 commercial units and 8 apartments in Durrës.
The properties in Tirana are mainly located on "Shinasi Dishnica" street, while those in Durrës are in neighborhood 13, the Beach area.

Apartment with an area of 75.7 m², on “Shinasi Dishnica” street, Tirana.
Apartment with an area of 69.8 m², worth 48,860 euros, on "Shinasi Dishnica" street, Tirana.
Apartment with an area of 68.85 m², in cadastral area 8130, Tirana.
Garage with an area of 40.3 m², on “Shinasi Dishnica” street, Tirana.

Commercial unit with an area of 165 m², in neighborhood 13, Plazh, Durrës.

Apartment with an area of 91.6 m², in neighborhood 13, Plazh, Durrës.

According to the prosecution, the investigation revealed that five monetary transfers in significant amounts were made to finance some of these assets, totaling $42,942 and €404,733.
According to SPAK, the transfers were made on behalf of family members of the persons under investigation and came from various countries in Central America and the Caribbean region, known as tax havens.
Based on the investigative actions and accounting expertise, the Prosecution has concluded that there are reasonable suspicions, based on evidence, that Nikolin Gjolena, Klevent Gjolena and persons associated with them have failed to prove the legality of the income used to create these assets.
The value of the properties at the time of signing the contracts is estimated at around 1 million euros, while according to current market prices, it amounts to over 2 million euros.
SPAK informs that investigations continue to trace, identify, seize and confiscate other movable and immovable assets that may have benefited from illegal activity by other prosecuted entities and persons associated with them.
