61-year-old man found murdered in forest, wife and son deny in court: We have no connection to the incident

For about two hours, the hearing for the review of the request for the imposition of a security measure against the wife and son of Urim Fiku, suspected of involvement in the murder of the 61-year-old, has been continuing at the Dibra Court. The incident occurred on November 3 in the village of Godvi, Bulqiza.
According to information from inside the court, Sadete Fiku and her son, Gazmir Fiku, have not admitted to the crime. They are said to have stated before the court: "We did not kill him, we have nothing to do with the incident". Up to now, a decision on the security measure has not yet been made, while the hearing continues. The police announced the arrest of Sadete Fiku, 57, and her 33-year-old son, Gazmir Fiku, a day after the incident, on suspicion of involvement in the murder of the 61-year-old.
Initially, it was claimed that Urim Fiku had been attacked by a bear, but forensic expertise conducted in Tirana revealed that he had a gunshot wound to the chest. Police suspicions were further heightened after the discovery of head injuries, while investigations continue to fully elucidate the circumstances of the incident.
According to reports, the family had taken the 61-year-old to Bulqiza Hospital, where he arrived without any signs of life. They had refused to allow the body to be prepared by hospital staff, stating that, according to their tradition, they would carry out this process themselves.
