Tirana Police has reacted to the incident made public the day before, where the Ora News news television crew faced an unprecedented situation, where a citizen threatened their lives.
The incident was recorded in the village of Zbarqe in Tirana, where citizen Sinan Hamdi Idrizi, who was carrying out unauthorized work at the water source, threatened the journalist, the operator and the television driver with an iron bar.
Immediately after the complaint that these citizens filed with the Tirana Police, the authorities took measures that enabled the arrest of the 64-year-old.
The investigation revealed that Idrizi, who was an employee of a 70-year-old man, was carrying out work at the latter's request at a point where water was springing. Following the investigation procedures, the police were able to take measures against the citizen for whom the 64-year-old man was working.
"On 11.08.2026, the services of the Police Commissariat No. 6 referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against the citizen on whose behalf the 64-year-old RP, 70 years old, resident of Tirana, worked, for the offenses of "Waste of land", "Illegal construction" and "Destruction of the irrigation network", as it is suspected that he has opened a water source (well), without a permit, as well as that he has carried out excavations illegally, for the opening of a road" , the Police announcement further states.
We recall that the filming team was filming a chronicle in the village of Zbarqe in Tirana, where they were faced with this unprecedented situation. They were preparing a material following a complaint made by residents regarding the damage to a historic water source in the community, which had served as the area's water supply for generations.

The day before yesterday, Tirana Police initiated criminal proceedings against the citizen who had employed the 64-year-old, for land misuse, illegal construction and destruction of the irrigation network.
After the immediate administration of the report of 3 citizens, with respective duties as journalist, operator and vehicle driver, on Ora News television, that during the production of a chronicle on the problems with a water source (well) in the village of Zbarqë, Tirana, they were threatened for their lives by a citizen who was carrying out works on this source, the services of Police Commissariat No. 6 arrested the suspected perpetrator of the case, citizen SI, 64 years old.
The 64-year-old was captured a few minutes after the filming crew reported the incident, in the mountainous area of the village of Zbarqë.
During a search of the 64-year-old's apartment, an unlicensed shotgun, ammunition, and a cold weapon (metal rod) were found and seized.
