Journalist Klodian Tomorri, on the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, provided new details about the Veliaj brothers' $300,000 contract with a law firm in the US, worth $300,000. Tomorri said that this contract is not yet concluded and could be paid more, depending on the lawyers' work.
"There is a contract signed on March 1 between Erion Veliaj, Arbër Veliaj and the Kasowitz Benson Torres studio. Its primary objective is that the American studio will provide advice, legal, media and strategic consultancy regarding the process taking place in Albania.
Meanwhile, under the scope of the contract there are also lobbying services. The studio will lead communications at the State Department and other executive agencies of the US government, even doing PR in the US, on behalf of Mr. Veliaj. So all of this, the communications that the studio will do at the State Department, potentially or in other US government agencies and the PR campaign, is clearly a lobbying service.
It is a contract that is technically in the format of a framework agreement, when you are not clear about the service or how much service you should receive. In this case, the price is the hourly rates of the lawyers. According to the contract for Mr. Veliaj, the studio has engaged 3 lawyers, who are paid by the hour. The total amount that was initially set as a down payment is 300 thousand dollars and this amount, if the hours are not completed, up to this amount, Veliaj gets back the difference, but if he needs more hours, he pays more. It is an unclosed contract, not fixed in the price work, "said Tomorri.
