The head of the blue headquarters, Sali Berisha, accused today (March 23) from the podium of the Pulpit in front of the Prime Minister's Office, the socialist majority and its leader Edi Rama, of having excluded the opposition from any initiative required constitutionally and legally.
He described it as the "Parliament of Thieves", and called the Prime Minister "The Chief Thief of the Nation".
Berisha said that the opposition has been submitting requests to the Assembly for 7 months, but the majority rejects them, and out of fear, even the Speaker of Parliament Niko Peleshi did not take the DP deputies on his visit to Germany.
"After May 11, the ugliest electoral farce in the history of pluralism, 7 months have passed, a parliament has been installed in Tirana, I invite the citizens, those 600 thousand Albanians, who, under conditions of terror, voted for opposition deputies, to ask themselves, what is the role of these deputies in Parliament? This role is zero, zero, zero! The sovereign has appointed them in Parliament to hold the government accountable for its positions. For seven months now, the chief thief of the nation has been refusing every question and interpellation in Parliament, regardless of the law and the constitution. The deputies are obliged to establish parliamentary committees, to present to the citizens the thefts, the faults, the mistakes of the government. But for the first time in history, no parliamentary committee is allowed in the Assembly", said Berisha, among other things.
The opposition leader explained that they have requested laws and amendments, but even those have not been allowed in Parliament. But the "pirate" majority, according to him, has excluded them from any initiative.
"There, MPs present laws and amendments on behalf of citizens, but none of them are presented there, proposed by the opposition. Parliament represents the power that comes from the citizens' vote, but this Parliament only represents thieves, as the opposition is excluded from any representation," he said.
In the end, Berisha told the story of Parliament Speaker Peleshi, who excluded opposition MPs from the agenda of the visit to the German Bundestag.
"Here's a recent story, Niko Peleshi was going to travel to Germany to meet the head of the Bundestag and opposition MPs were going there as is the rule. It was enough for me to ask my MPs to line everything up there, but he left without a single MP from the Democratic Party," said the leader of the Democrat Party.
