"I didn't want to leave Fier"/ Braçe explodes about

Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe has reacted sharply regarding his departure from the Fier district, where he was replaced by Belinda Balluku as the political leader of the Socialists in this district.

Invited to the show "This Week" on News24 , Braçe stated that the way he left Fier had nothing to do with democracy within the Socialist Party.

"The way my departure from the Fier region was done had nothing to do with democracy in the SP. Ask the decision-makers why it happened," he said.

Braçe said that he did not want to leave the area where he had been politically active for years, specifically mentioning Divjaka and Lushnja.

"I didn't want to leave the Fier region, not from Divjaka, not even from Lushnja, which I covered," declared the socialist MP.

He added that his presence would not have brought electoral losses to the Socialist Party in that territory.

"I don't think we would have had electoral losses with my presence there. We would have had almost the same results," said Brace.

Commenting on Belinda Balluku's role as political leader for Fier, Braçe was critical of her engagement in agricultural issues and farmers' problems.

"I don't know about its presence. I would like its presence to help in those issues related to agriculture. So far I don't see it. I'm sorry, but I don't see it," he said.

He also criticized Petrit Malaj, saying that he does not see him engaged with the problems of the area.

Braçe also raised concerns about the food safety situation in the country, defending Albanian farmers from accusations about the quality of their products.

"A phenomenon is happening with food safety. It's good that it's being insisted on, but the problems we have are not from farmers, but from the way food is handled in cooking," he declared.

According to Braça, Albanian farmers produce "good, fair and honest", while warning that tarnishing the entire sector because of a few cases is a big mistake.
