Diaspora votes in Kosovo/ Counting begins on Wednesday for more than 15 thousand
The counting of 15,352 ballots of citizens who voted at Kosovo's diplomatic missions in 19 countries around the world is expected to begin at the Counting and Results Center on Wednesday.

"We have discussed the possibility of starting the counting of votes that are part of the voting in diplomatic missions on Wednesday,"  said Valmir Elezi, CEC spokesperson.

Meanwhile, the evaluation of votes received by mail from the diaspora was completed on Sunday.

"According to preliminary data, around 69 thousand packages have been subjected to the process of evaluation or verification of packages with ballots from outside Kosovo, of which around 63 thousand have been approved, while around 4 thousand and 900 have been rejected ," he said.

At the same time, the Central Election Commission has announced that the scanning of voter lists is also underway, a process that precedes the counting of conditional votes and to pave the way for the counting of votes from this category and those of people with special needs.

The CEC aims to complete this process before March 5th, in order to be able to announce the final results as planned.

"The announcement of the final results for political entities and candidates is planned to take place by March 5, while their certification, which takes place after any potential appeals to the ECAP and the Supreme Court are completed, is planned to take place by March 18,"  he said.

Regular parliamentary elections in Kosovo were held on February 9, with 40.59% of eligible citizens participating in the process.
