Lindsay Lohan's father arrested for assaulting his ex-wife

Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael, was arrested Saturday for assaulting his estranged wife, Kate Major. According to a statement from the sheriff's office to People in Harris County, Texas, the woman was at a medical appointment when she spotted Michael Lohan in the parking lot of the building. She immediately called the police, saying she was "concerned that she was being followed."

She claimed that a few days earlier, Michael Lohan had thrown her from a chair at their home, so she made arrangements to see a doctor and showed the sheriff the bruises on her body. Authorities said they contacted the 64-year-old that same day and he was arrested at his home "without tension or incident."

Michael Lohan is being held in the department, charged with domestic violence and his release is set at $30,000 bail. He denies the charges and in a statement to TMZ, he said: "I have been silent for a long time about Kate's physical, verbal and emotional abuse. He set me up. At first she said I was stalking her. Then, when that didn't work, she said I pushed her out of a chair, which is a lie. "Not only can my children confirm this, but I have video."

The couple married in 2014 and have two children together, Landon, 12, and Logan, 10. Kate Major filed for divorce in 2018. This is not the first time the couple has had legal troubles. Michael Lohan was once again in trouble with authorities in 2020 for an alleged assault on Major in Southampton, New York. In a statement, police at the time said she “verbally and physically assaulted him.” However, Kate Majors has also been arrested in the past for violating restraining orders filed against her by Michael Lohan.
