The United Kingdom Government donates high-tech imaging equipment worth over 18,000 euros to the Albanian Police.

The donation agreement, following the solid cooperation and concrete assistance of the British partners, was signed by the Director General of the Albanian State Police, Major General Ilir Proda, and by the representative of the International Operations Office of the Department of International Operations of the UK Home Office, Mr. Stephen Law.

Director Proda, through Mr. Stephen Law, thanked the UK Home Office for its continued assistance and support and emphasized that: "Cooperation built on professionalism and mutual trust will directly impact the rule of law in the fight against crime in general and organized crime in particular."

The high-resolution equipment will serve the Department of Border and Migration for the rapid detection of narcotics, weapons and goods that are attempted to enter/exit the territory of the Republic of Albania, by hiding them in previously adapted places. As a result of the use of these equipment in these cases of border crimes, undamaged material evidence will be provided.

This donation follows the donation of 4 thermal drones and 2 detectors by British partners on January 28, 2025. The donations are concrete evidence of the close cooperation between the State Police and British partners.
