Accused of financing terrorism, GJKKO sentences Muhamet Manollari to 4 years in

The Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime has sentenced Muhamet Manollari to 4 years in prison, who in 2013 sent 864 euros to his father, who was part of a terrorist organization. Manollari is accused of the criminal offense of "Financing terrorism."

Investigations conducted by SPAK have revealed that the defendant is the son of Mehdi Manollari, who left Albania for Syria on May 5, 2013, becoming part of the ISIS organization. In 2016, he was announced on the national list of persons for financing terrorism.

On November 19, 2018, his son Muhamet Manollari transferred the amount of 864 Euros in favor of a Syrian citizen, with the intention of sending it to his father, who was in Syria at the time. To send this amount of money, the defendant did not use his name, but used an identity card in the name of a woman who had reported him missing some time before the incident.

Manellari, part of the ISIS terrorist organization, is believed to have died in 2019, according to the Special Prosecution Office.
