"Don Bosko" massacre where Mimoza Paja died, the court returns Shërnik's file for further investigation

Two years after the massacre on "Don Bosko" Street, where bartender Mimoza Paja was killed, the Tirana Court has decided to return the criminal file against Nikoll Shërnik, one of the closest people to gambling businessman Ervis Martinaj, for further investigation.
The decision was made a short time ago, leaving the task to the prosecutor of the case, Adriano Dyrmishi, to carry out investigative actions to determine whether Nikoll Shërniku was in prison or not, during the time when the criminal event occurred on March 12, 2023 in Tirana.
In this incident, Nikoll Shërniku is the only person that the Tirana prosecution alleges committed the criminal offense of "Providing the conditions to commit murder."
According to the investigation, he turned out to have brought a pair of German license plates from Germany to Albania, which were used in the car used in this murder.
But on the other hand, Nikoll Shërniku claimed that at the time the incident occurred he was in solitary confinement in prison, as he was serving another sentence for the charge of "Unlicensed Possession of Weapons".
These claims must now be verified by the prosecution, which will then decide whether to submit the criminal file for judicial review or not.
In this incident, Mimoza Paja was mistakenly killed and Shehat Murati, Astrit Memaj, Genci Shaholli, Ermir Dajçuk, Emanuel Çala and 10-year-old RP were injured.
Shërniku is the only person arrested by the police, while the other perpetrators remain unidentified.
Shërniku was initially found guilty and sentenced to 5 years in prison on the charge of “Providing the conditions to commit murder.” However, this sentence was later overturned by the Court of Appeal, returning the case for retrial to the Court of First Instance.
Meanwhile, this court has now decided to return Shërnik's file for further investigation, in order to verify whether or not he was in prison at the time the murder occurred.
