Ballack criticizes Germany: This team lacks leaders

Michael Ballack believes that the problems of the German national team are not only related to the coaches. According to him, the players themselves must also take more responsibility and show character.

The former German captain emphasizes that the team lacks leaders who speak openly inside the locker room, who criticize each other and are able to correct mistakes without always waiting for the coach's intervention.

Ballack says the coach can have a big influence, but the final step towards improvement must come from the team itself. Players need to know how to make decisions on the pitch and be able to manage difficult situations on their own.

It also raises another problem: according to Ballack, German football has become too tactical and standardized, a tendency that, according to him, starts at a young age and can rob players of the ability to think and decide independently.

Essentially, Ballack's message is clear: Germany doesn't just need a good coach. The national team needs leaders on the pitch and in the dressing room, more personality and more autonomy from the players.
