EU discusses Ukraine, Kallas: Russia's conditions show it does not want the war to end

Britain is ready to send thousands of troops to Ukraine for a long-term peacekeeping mission, with a commitment to stay there for as long as necessary in coordination with Western allies, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said. The aim, he said, would be to guarantee a ceasefire and prevent new Russian aggression.
Also included in the plan are countries such as France, Turkey, Canada and Australia, while other countries will contribute with logistical support and weapons supplies. As reported by the daily "The Times", the military leaders of the coalition of volunteers will meet on Thursday in London to discuss in detail the deployment of forces that could reach up to 30 thousand troops.
Meanwhile, on the eve of the meeting of the bloc's foreign ministers regarding the war in Ukraine, European foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said that the conditions set by Russia for a ceasefire in the conflict with Ukraine show that Moscow does not truly want peace.
"We welcome the talks in Jeddah regarding the war in Ukraine and now we need to see that the ball is really in Russia's court and what conditions they are presenting. This will also answer the question of whether they want peace. The conditions they have presented so far show that they do not really want peace. They are presenting as conditions all the ultimate objectives they want to achieve with the war."
