Billionaire Elon Musk has publicly attacked the European Union, stating that the EU should be abolished and sovereignty returned to individual states.
The EU Commission has imposed a fine of 120 million euros on platform X for violating European rules governing content on social networks.
This explains the tycoon's direct attack on the Brussels authorities.
Also, Musk's message came a day after the White House released the "National Security Strategy," a document of about thirty pages, which explains the US's new approach to Europe.
In the section of the document titled "Promoting European Greatness," the vital and strategic connection between the US and Europe is emphasized, but the continent's economic decline is also highlighted.
For example, in 1990, European Gross Domestic Product (GDP) relative to the world was 25%, while today it has fallen to 14%, indicating a clear economic stagnation.
According to the analysis of American experts, the problem that Trump and his allies see is not only economic. Much more worrying is the "risk of the extinction of civilization" in Europe.
Among the main threats, the activities of the European Union and other transnational organizations that undermine political freedom and sovereignty, migration policies that are transforming the continent and creating conflicts, censorship of freedom of speech and suppression of political opposition, declining birth rates, and the loss of national identity and self-confidence are mentioned.
American strategists warn that, if this trend continues, Europe could lose its identity within 20 years or less. According to Trump, the goal is for Europe to remain European, to restore its sense of civilization and to leave behind a “failed focus on regulatory oversight.”
As a prescription for changing this trajectory, the US offers help for Europe to compete more successfully and together prevent the rise of global rivals that could dominate the world.
This stance by Musk, relying on Trump's line, emphasizes a vision where the national sovereignty and identity of European states are considered essential to maintaining the stability and economic and cultural power of Europe in the coming decades.
