Iran threatens Bulgaria: Do not give territory to the US for attack on Tehran

Iran has warned Bulgaria against any cooperation with the United States that could be used for an attack on Tehran, threatening to strike the source of any aggression against it.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said that if Sofia were to offer its territory or infrastructure to the US for an attack on Iran, this would be considered by Tehran as an "act of aggression."

" Bulgaria's cooperation with the United States in an attack on Iran constitutes an act of aggression and Iran has the right to strike the source of any attack ," Baghaei declared, according to the Iranian Fars news agency.

He added that countries have no reason to worry about Iran unless they allow the United States to use their territory and infrastructure.

The Iranian spokesman linked this stance to Tehran's right to respond to any attack, claiming that under international law, striking the source of an act of aggression constitutes a legitimate right.

" The military and officials of the Islamic Republic will not show any leniency towards aggressive parties ," he said, adding that Iran will defend the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Tehran denies claims over Strait of Hormuz

During the press conference, Baghaei also commented on the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. He described as a "communication and propaganda war" the reports that the strait is open and that several million barrels of oil are being transported through it every day.

Meanwhile, the spokesman denied that Iran has received an invitation to join the Mecca Defense Agreement.

On the diplomatic front, Baghaei announced that Omani Foreign Minister Sayyed Badr Al-Busaidi will travel to Tehran on Tuesday.

During the visit, Al-Busaidi is expected to hold talks with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi on bilateral issues and regional developments.

According to the Iranian side, the visit aims to strengthen cooperation between Tehran and Muscat, as well as continue political consultations between the two countries that share access to the Strait of Hormuz, with a focus on peace and security in the region.
