A serious incident shook the village of Kërvasari in Malisheva on Sunday evening, where a married couple was found injured by gunfire. The woman died a few hours later at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCK), while her husband continues to receive medical treatment.
Kosovo Police announced that they were notified of the case on August 23, 2026, at around 11:20 p.m. Police units immediately arrived at the scene, where they found a man and his wife injured in a bedroom.
Both were given first aid and then transported to the UCCK for specialized treatment. During the examination of the scene, the Police found and seized a firearm, which is suspected to have been used in the incident. At around 01:10, the authorities were notified by the UCCK that the adult woman had died as a result of her injuries. According to the data so far, the victim was 34 weeks pregnant. The state prosecutor went to the scene and, with his decision, the case was initiated as “Aggravated Murder”.
Meanwhile, the victim's husband is in the UCCK, where he is receiving medical treatment. Investigations are ongoing to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, including how the injuries were caused, the possible motive, and the circumstances in which the firearm was used. Up to this point, authorities have not released an official motive for the incident.
