Shocking details have emerged from the serious incident that occurred in Malisheva, Kosovo, where a woman, who was 34 weeks pregnant, was shot dead. The incident occurred on Sunday evening in the village of Kërvasari. Her husband, who was found injured in their bedroom and is in critical condition in hospital, is accused of the macabre crime. According to information, the man has deprived his wife Jetlira Foniqi, aged 25, of her life. The Kosovo Police have also made statements regarding the case.
The police spokesperson for the Gjakova region, Vlera Krasniqi, stated that police units immediately went to the scene, where they found two injured people in a bedroom, a man and his wife.
Also according to the UCCK announcement, at around 00:15 on August 24, 2026, two people from the Malisheva region were admitted to the Emergency Center. "One of the admitted persons, a 25-year-old female, arrived at the Emergency Center with no signs of life, with gunshot wounds. The other person, a 26-year-old male, was admitted with gunshot wounds and is currently receiving medical treatment at the Emergency Center. His health condition is reported to be very serious," the announcement states.
Investigations to fully elucidate the circumstances and motive of this event are ongoing.
