Two days after the shooting in the Puka highlands, police identify and seek the 30-year-old man who guarded the cannabis plot

Two days after shootings reported during a police operation in Puka, authorities have revealed more details about the incident and identified the gunman who fled the scene.

The 30-year-old with the initials KL has been declared wanted, and is suspected of being the person guarding a plot of 120 suspected narcotic plants in the village of Kodërbojë.

"Pukë / He did not obey the order of the police officers to stop, as he was armed, the 30-year-old is identified and declared wanted.

During the control of the territory in the village of Kodërbojë, with the aim of identifying and cracking down on cases of cultivation of narcotic plants, the services of the Puka Police Commissariat, on 22.08.2026, found a plot where 120 suspected narcotic plants had been cultivated.

Also, near the plot, they found an armed citizen, who, after noticing the presence of Police officers, quickly left, disobeying the Police officers' order to stop.

One of the police officers shot into the air, in order to warn him to stop, but the gunman, taking advantage of the difficult terrain, was able to escape.

Following investigative actions, it became possible to identify him, specifically citizen KL, 30 years old, resident of the village of Kodërbojë, Puka, who was declared wanted.

This citizen is suspected of cultivating the narcotic plants found on the plot and guarding them armed with a firearm.

Investigations are ongoing to locate and capture the 30-year-old.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra, for the criminal offenses of "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Cultivation of narcotic plants", the Police wrote.
