"Oscar" Award/ Trophy material, winners and its history
The Academy Award or Oscar (orig. Academy Award of Merit) is an award from the American film organization Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) for professional excellence in the film industry, including directors, actors and screenwriters.

The official awards ceremony is one of the most prominent awards ceremonies in the world, and is televised live in more than 200 countries each year. It is also the oldest media awards ceremony, its equivalents, the Grammy Awards (for music), the Emmy Awards (for television), and the Tony Awards (for theater) are modeled after the Academy Award.

History

The award ceremony in 1929, for one hour, was broadcast on the radio. However, the television broadcasts of this great event began in 1953. Prizes are also awarded for other categories such as the best technical achievement; best cinematography; for makeup, costume design, sound, visual effects; honorary career awards etc

material

It may come as a surprise to some, but the material used to make the awards is the same technology used by NASA for its equipment.

The company responsible for manufacturing the statues is Epner Technology, which uses a mixture of copper, tin and antimony to make the base, which is then plated with 24 carat gold.
The company offers a lifetime warranty on the gold plating that covers every price.

"We guarantee that our gold layer will never be lost, so the guarantee will never have to be enforced," the company's founder stated at the time.

How much is an Oscar worth?

The price of each of the prizes will leave you speechless. In 1950 the Academy introduced a law prohibiting the sale of "Oscars".

The real price of the statues is actually one dollar. In case a person wants to get rid of one of the prizes, they cannot sell it and will have to return it to the Academy for that prize.
