The hearing in The Hague for the leaders of the KLA begins in The Hague, the first images of Veseli and Thaçi from the courtroom emerge

Sessions have begun in The Hague in the trial of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, in one of the most anticipated moments of this process.

Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi are before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers panel, where the first instance verdict is expected to be announced today.

In the footage from the courtroom, Kadri Veseli is seen smiling, while Hashim Thaçi appears calm in the first moments of the session. Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi are also in the courtroom, facing the jury.

The hearing is open to the public and is being broadcast through the platforms of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, with a delay of approximately ten minutes. The broadcast is taking place in three languages, Albanian, English and Serbian.

The verdict expected to be announced today comes after a long court process against four former KLA leaders.

Thaçi, Veseli, Selimi and Krasniqi face charges of six counts of crimes against humanity and four counts of war crimes. The four former KLA leaders have pleaded not guilty to all charges.
