"You are not alone in the battle against corruption", the strong statement of the Vice President of the European Parliament on the protests in Tirana: We follow you!

The Vice President of the European Parliament, Nicolae Stefanuta, has expressed his support for the protesters in Tirana, saying that the situation in Albania is being closely followed in Europe.

In a statement from Strasbourg, Stefanuta raised concerns about the arrests and restrictions of several social media accounts that have covered the over 100-day protests.

" I'm here to talk about Albanians who have been leading a revolution for more than 100 days. They protest every day and now they are being arrested by the police. Journalists are being censored. The social networks of those who are covering the protest are being shut down ," he said.

Further, the Vice President of the European Parliament addressed Albanian citizens directly, promising them that they are not alone in the battle against corruption.

“ And let me address the Albanians: We follow you from here. We see what is happening in Albania. I have been there. I have been in Tirana. I have protested with these people. I have spoken to them and they write to me every day ,” said Ștefănuță.

" You are not alone, Albanians. You are not alone in your efforts for transparency against corruption, for nature and your rights ," he added.
