France has been rocked by a scandal centered around police officers. It concerns the death of a 29-year-old man, who lost his life 13 days after a police officer pushed him with too much force, causing him to hit his head on the ground.
Although he was rushed to the hospital, after 13 days of agony, the young man died as a result of his injuries.
An investigation into the causes of death is underway, while the autopsy-autopsy performed on July 9, 2026 ruled out any suspicious injuries indicating third-party intervention and indicated the most likely toxic cause.
After the video was released, the prosecutor's office referred the case "for a judicial investigation into the intentional use of violence by a person exercising public authority."
While the victim's brother, Hamza, testified on Monday, he said the young man was not homeless and was not addicted to narcotics.
"My brother wasn't homeless. He had his own room in our parents' house, which is 130 square meters. He wasn't even addicted to drugs. He had smoked cannabis and drank with his friends at the Music Festival, that was all," he said.
