"I will kill you, I guarantee it"/ Journalist Osman Stafa receives death threats, AGSH demands immediate investigation

News24 journalist Osman Stafa has received a death threat via a message sent to his Facebook account. The threatening message, among other things, reads: "remember I will kill you" and "I guarantee this."

According to the journalist's testimony, the threat is suspected to be related to a film he made and published during the September 8 protest near Parliament. In this material, Stafa had documented the actions of several civilians during the detention and arrest of a protester.

The Association of Journalists of Albania (AGSH) has strongly condemned the threat and expressed deep concern for the journalist's safety.

AGSH considers the death threat, especially when related to the exercise of duty and the publication of materials of public interest, as a serious attack on the safety of journalists, media freedom and the public's right to be informed.

The association has asked the State Police and justice authorities to act urgently to identify the person or persons behind the account from which the threat was sent.
