The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted publicly regarding the expected arrival of the new United States Ambassador to Albania, Eric Wendt, confirming the Democratic Party's full openness to cooperation with official Washington.

Asked by journalists about the possibility of a visit by the American diplomat to the opposition headquarters, Berisha underlined that the Democratic Party remains open and welcoming, while respect for the autonomy of the representative of American diplomacy remains complete.

"The ambassador is welcome at any time at the DP headquarters. But he sets his own agenda. We are open and welcome him," Berisha declared.
