From the president's office to the enemies list, Zelensky sanctions his former spokeswoman

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has decreed a series of decisions of the National Security and Defense Council imposing tough sanctions on economic, logistical and propaganda networks that support Russian aggression.
Among those declared persona non grata is 40-year-old Yuliia Mendel, who previously served as Zelensky's own official spokesperson during the early years of his presidency.
Mendel is included in a list of 10 Ukrainian and Russian citizens accused by Kiev of spreading disinformation, Moscow's propaganda and openly supporting Russia's aggressive policies. In addition to cracking down on propaganda, the new package of punitive measures targets 20 naval vessels used by the Kremlin as part of a "shadow fleet" for the export of oil, its by-products and liquefied gas with the aim of financing the military machine.
Further, the sanctions directly target the Russian military-industrial complex, including 29 citizens and 29 companies affiliated with the state corporation Rostec.
The blockade includes suppliers of high-precision electronics for missiles and drones, developers of IT encryption software, as well as educational institutions that train personnel for the arms giant Kalashnikov. The Ukrainian presidency announced that all data will be immediately forwarded to international allies in order to synchronize sanctions in Western jurisdictions.
