AMP operation in Durrës, one police officer is arrested in flagrante delicto, two others are being investigated at large

An operation by the Police Supervision Agency (AMP) was finalized this Tuesday in Durrës, within the framework of a criminal proceeding for corruption and abuse of office. At the end of the investigations, a police officer was arrested in flagrante delicto, while two other officers were referred to the police station.

According to the AMP, on September 15, 2026, within the framework of criminal proceedings no. 100/2026, registered for the criminal offenses "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" and "Abuse of office", the operation was finalized by the Durrës-Kavajë Regional Directorate, in cooperation with the General Directorate of the AMP and under the direction of the Durrës General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office.

SM, a police officer with the General Patrol Service Corps, was arrested in flagrante delicto. Meanwhile, two other police officers have been referred for the criminal offense of "Abuse of Duty".

These are SH, with the position of Specialist for Order at the Durrës Police Station, and AK, with the position of General Patrol Service Troop at the Durrës Police Station. At the end of the procedural actions, the compiled materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further actions according to the law.
