Erion Veliaj requests release from prison, the Supreme Court will review the security measure today

The High Court is reviewing today the case related to the security measure against the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

The hearing will take place in the Counseling Room at 9:30 a.m. and will focus on the "prison arrest" measure imposed on Veliaj. The case has been returned for review following the decision of the Constitutional Court, which has requested a review of the proportionality of the security measure.

The Supreme Court will evaluate the parties' arguments and the circumstances of the case to determine whether the detention measure should continue or be changed.

Erion Veliaj has been under "prison arrest" for months, as part of SPAK investigations.
