The Economy Committee gives the "ok", 40 AF troops will go to Gaza

The Economy Committee approved with 9 votes in favor today, September 15, the draft law that paves the way for the dispatch of 40 Albanian Armed Forces soldiers to the Gaza Strip.

The draft is being reviewed under an accelerated procedure and is expected to be included as a priority on the agenda of the nearest plenary session.

Albanian troops will be deployed as part of the International Stabilization Force (ISF), under the umbrella of the Peace Board.

The draft law stipulates that the 40 military personnel of our Armed Forces will have as their mission the support of security and stability operations, the protection of personnel, facilities and infrastructure of the mission, the support of humanitarian operations, monitoring, reporting on the security situation, as well as other tasks, within the framework of the Peace Board.

Albania and Kosovo will be the first countries to be equipped with American armored vehicles for the international peacekeeping mission in Gaza, part of President Donald Trump's plan being implemented by the Peace Board.

So far, five countries have pledged to contribute troops to the ISF: Albania, Kosovo, Indonesia, Morocco and Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, Egypt and Jordan have taken on the responsibility of training the new Palestinian police force.
