The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, was arrested about 1 year after SPAK launched an investigation against him.
The investigation, as was announced some time ago, began after a complaint by a person calling himself Nesti Angoni, whom Veliaj himself said does not exist in the Civil Registry.
Journalist Klodiana Lala, invited to the Opinion show on TV Klan, stated that the denunciations made by Nesti Angoni against Erion Veliaj were detailed about everything, including the online purchases of his wife, Ajola Xoxa, for whom SPAK says she made 860 thousand Euros in online purchases.
Klodiana Lala: In the report made by the citizen identified as Nesti Angoni, there were precise details of all the movements of Mr. Veliaj and Ms. Xoxa. He also provided details of the purchase of personal belongings or clothes from Ms. Xoxa. Based on this criminal report, prosecutors have seized all the documents. In one case, there is a very interesting detail, because it resulted that in a hotel in Vienna, Mr. Veliaj and his wife requested an additional small bed for their son, and this detail has also been made available to the Special Prosecution Office.

Klodiana Lala: I think Nesti Angoni is within the Municipality of Tirana, SPAK knows who among them is, but it is so detailed that the prosecution initially received all entries/exits in TIMS, all documents related to invoices, online purchases, and construction permits.
