Opposition Unity/Qori: How can we sit at the table with Meta in prison and

The chairman of the "Lëvizja Bashkë" party, Arlind Qori, in a connection with the show "Të Paekspozuarit" on MCN TV commented on the initiative of Ermal Hasime and his associates to cooperate with opposition parties in an opposition bloc. Qori reiterated the position of the party he leads that there are deep moral and political incompatibility with these parties that make cooperation impossible.

"This is a thesis that has been floated for a long time. It has been initiated several times by Mr. Berisha for the formal unification of the opposition and I have had to reject this invitation several times for a number of reasons.

The first reason has to do with a deep moral incompatibility between the "Together Movement" and the DP's leading elite, starting with Sali Berisha.

We are completely against corruption, and it may seem like self-praise, but the "Together Movement" is also made up of people who are not only incorruptible, but also incorruptible.

In this sense, it would not make sense for us to join a political action with representatives of parties that are not only universally known as corrupt, but are, as we speak, accused of corruption or are in prison for corruption.

Imagine how absurd it would be if we all went out together in a protest and half the time they said “free Ilir Meta”, “free Sali Berisha”. Now these people should either all go to prison, or they should all remain free.

My position is that they should all be in prison, and if I think that Ilir Meta is good where he is, I have no way of cooperating with Ilir Meta's party, if I think that Sali Berisha belongs in prison, kind of like SPAK thinks in the accusations it has made, I cannot share the same platform, the same political action.

With Sali Berisha, a second incompatibility has to do with the second part and very little talk of those responsible for corruption, that is, the corruptors, the oligarchs. The other political parties in Albania either think that there are no oligarchs at all, or they think that the only oligarch is Edi Rama.

The DP with Edi Rama is not a complete opposition, it is not a strategic opposition. They are practically together, trying under the rug to. Restructure the institutions for the worse and the fundamental laws of the country, because they have common interests.

Edi Rama and Sali Berisha are also interested in destroying the justice reform, or at least changing the justice reform laws, which would make it more difficult for the regular legal prosecution of politicians or people in power, just as they are interested in what the future electoral system will be like from an electoral point of view.

We have a strong difference with Rama, with Berisha, and in general with other political parties in Albania.

No other party in Albania today points a finger at the sale of national assets like Sazani or Zvërnec, which are being given away, forgiven, or given away for two lekë, so that Edi Rama can repair his relations with the American administration.

We are against the sale of national assets, we are against the instrumentalization of such important national assets. The very sovereignty of the Republic of Albania for the daily troubles of politicians, as we have been and continue to be against the refugee camps built by the Italian government in Albania, which violate the territorial sovereignty of the Republic of Albania. I want to remind you that Albanian law is not applied in those camps and I am sorry but I have not heard any other party take a stand on them.

"In addition to the stance on the oligarchy that we have as a standard and of course other ideas such as rights at work and a range of other economic and social policies that strongly distinguish us. From other parties, for all these reasons, the movement together cannot join any kind of coalition or I don't know how to put the name that includes it," said Qori.
