'He serves Berisha', Lapaj responds to Dash Sula: I don't deal

TIRANA - After the 'clash' with MP Dash Sula, Adriatik Lapaj from the "Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet" (Albania Becomes Initiative) refutes the accusations that the lawmaker made against him that he is being used by Sali Berisha to collect democratic votes that he himself cannot collect. In an interview for Report TV, Lapaj chooses to comment on this accusation thus: "Let me deal with thorns in my feet, I will move forward."

For the show " Sot Live në Shqipënia " with journalist Nertil Agalliu, regarding Dash Sula's departure, Lapaj says no agreement was reached and this was a decision of the structures.

"Let me deal with thorns in my feet, I go ahead. I go ahead, we decide based on structures. There was a moment when the structures decided and I implemented their decision. We are in a coalition, the coalition made a proposal. No agreement was found, because there is membership, there are structures, I go ahead, I don't deal, neither with theories, nor with slander," Lapaj said on Report TV.

For Sula, he says they did not agree after he asked for guarantees for the closed lists.

"It's not true. Do we have a competition with open lists or have we all entered open lists, he wanted guarantees for closed lists. We told him as a coalition, we as a movement asked the structures and came to the conclusion not to cooperate. The mayor does not decide, the structures decide," said Lapaj.

Lapaj says they reject closed lists, as they lead to servile members of parliament and deputies who buy their seats with money.

"Have we made a bill that was submitted to the Assembly for the opening of the lists, have we been saying for 2 years that we do not accept the closed list? Have we taken the closing of the lists to the Criminal Court, have we fought for open lists? Have we come here and told people that we reject the concept of the closed lists of Berisha and Rama, that they are lists of clients that lead to the Assembly, servile and MPs who buy the seat with money. For this reason, with my head held high, I come and tell Albanians that we kept our word and we are going with open lists.

He also has a comment about the huge debate on the internet about his father's name on the lists, which actually withdrew him just a day ago. Lapaj said that they are being attacked just because they are running on an open list.

Lapaj and the coalition of Sheh with Alibeaj, or Basha, have used fictitious names as a strategy in the closed lists, introducing their relatives who are then expected to burn their mandate and only those who compete in the open lists will enter the Assembly. And the guarantee for such a scheme, according to Lapaj, are only their parents and relatives.

"I am the 18th in Tirana, when these are the first to settle on a closed list, I could stay too. I and the entire leadership are on an open list throughout Albania. This two-tier system was created by me or by Rama and Saliu. We want to compete, I don't want to go to the assembly as a closed list deputy. To go to the open list, the closed list must be passed, we must get 13 deputies on the ballot and the 13th is entered from the open list. To undo this, we had to burn the closed list, according to the law, because we cannot leave it empty. To keep our word that we do not accept the closed list, we went with open lists and had to burn the closed lists. Who should burn the closed lists with, or should we do it like the DP did the last time it brought the scumbags. "In order not to risk that, we did another thing, which are the people who are most trusting of their children, are the parents. We gave a message. They are mainly the parents of the central team members who are mixed in different circles," Lapaj said on Report TV.

He also describes this as an ironic message towards the old political caste.

"We are also sending a message to Tirana politics, where the grandfathers and fathers of politics have grabbed onto the chair and won't let go. We are ironically confronting parents on the closed lists, who are willing to give it up for their children's race."

In this country where the race is closed, the seat of the deputy has been sold, or they are buying the mandate of the mayor, or they are the servile of the chairman, they are judging us because we are running on open lists. My father is not here, nor is my mother. The process is called when it is over. What can I do, make me part of the mud here. The problem in this country is those who made the closed lists", said Lapaj.
