The political leader of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, Lulzim Basha, has reacted to the decision of the Special Court, which rejected the request of former Kosovo President, Hashim Thaçi, to attend his father's funeral.
Basha described this decision as unjust and inhumane, considering it a serious violation of fundamental human rights. According to him, this decision calls into question the standards of justice that this court claims to represent.
"I am outraged by the news that the court has refused to allow President Thaçi to attend his father's funeral. This is an unjust and inhumane decision, which constitutes a serious violation of fundamental human rights and calls into question the standards of justice that this court claims to represent," Basha said.
He expresses solidarity with Hashim Thaçi in these difficult moments, underlining that his pain is also the pain of every Albanian.
"In these moments, my heart and mind are with Hashim Thaçi. His pain is my pain and the pain of every Albanian son, and it is now even more aggravated by the inability to accompany his father to his final resting place.
