The National Assembly of the Democratic Party/Aulon Kalaja reveals the behind-the-scenes: A lady is expected to be appointed vice president!

The head of the Democratic Party branch in Kruja, Aulon Kalaja, invited to the show "This Week" on News24 , has shared other interesting details and behind-the-scenes information ahead of the meeting of the DP National Assembly, focusing on Sali Berisha's goals and changes in the party's leadership structure.

Kalaja emphasized that the Democrats' main focus should be winning the general elections, while revealing that changes are expected in the new DP leadership regarding key figures, including the appointment of a woman to the position of vice president.

According to the head of the Kruja branch, the internal debate over leadership has ended and now all energy should be directed towards overthrowing the government and not towards preserving his seat within the blue headquarters.

"The issue is what will happen with the DP. The only problem today is to win the elections. Berisha won the elections in the DP and I do not believe that he is playing for his power in the party," said Kalaja, reaffirming his support for the democratic leader.

Further, Kalaja raised an issue that, according to him, has been overlooked over the years by the Democratic Party: the balance and representation of religious communities in high-level decision-making forums, alongside the new name changes that are expected to be made official.

"As far as I understand, a lady will be the vice-president of the DP. But religion must also be carefully considered in our structures. The DP has made mistakes in the past by not pursuing religious representation. Religious communities traditionally in Albania should have their deserved representation in the DP's leadership forums," concluded Kalaja.
