Erjona Ismaili will continue to be the new Minister of State for Relations with Parliament, following yesterday's decision by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who decided to take her into his cabinet, entrusting her with the position of Toni Gogu.

The latter is leaving the post of Minister for Relations with Parliament and will continue to be Minister of Justice.

Erjon Ismaili was elected MP in the May 11, 2025 elections, under the banner of the Socialist Party for the Vlora Region and as a representative of her city, the beautiful Saranda on the Ionian coast. As of yesterday, she now has an even more important task.

She will be responsible for government propaganda in relations with members of Parliament.

Born on March 26, 1990 in Saranda, Erjona Ismaili began her professional journey with studies in law, and then with work in the media and public administration, getting to know firsthand how information works and how trust is built through service to citizens.

In recent years, she has served as Regional Coordinator in the Swiss project "Strong Municipalities", providing assistance to local self-government units.

In July 2025, when the situation in the Vlora Municipality and the SP branch culminated in clashes over poor management, Edi Rama decided to appoint Klevis Kaso as chairman and Erjona Ismaili as co-chairman at the head of the Socialist Party there.

Erjona Ismaili has been included in the lists of candidates for deputies of the Socialist Party, for the Vlora Region, after a 13-minute phone argument she had with Prime Minister Edi Rama, because her house had flooded for the second time.

Invited to his podcast before the May 11, 2025 elections, she and Rama recounted their acquaintance:

Edi Rama: Tell me how we met?

Erjona Ismaili: We met while fighting. The day after the Vlora flood. One of the flooded houses was my house – for the second time, after ten years. The first time, the fight didn't reach you, but the second time, it did.

I sent you a message, along with a phone call, not very correct on my part. Then you called me.

I thought the conversation would be calmer than it was… until you asked me the first question: “Do you have insurance for your house?” And I said: “I know Sigal!” and the conversation lasted 13 minutes of arguing.

Edi Rama: The sentence that stuck in my mind was: “You say one thing and do another. And when it comes to this, the same people, the same story… and no one will know who has merit and who does not.” That was the sentence that stuck in my mind. What hurts you stays in your mind.
