"The US and the EU, in line for the fight against corruption", Shehaj: SPAK is not putting on a show, Rama could end up in prison!

The leader of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, commented on the political situation in the country and the recent developments with the speech of the US candidate for ambassador to Tirana and the EU IBAR report.

In "This Week" by author and moderator Nisida Tufa on News24, he stated that the US and the EU are aligned in terms of the fight against corruption and support for the Special Prosecution Office.

He added that the work done so far in the fight against corruption at high levels of government is not perfect, but that important developments have been made. He recalled the cases of "Balluku", "Veliaj", "Beqaj", etc., while adding that today he no longer sees it impossible that Prime Minister Edi Rama will one day end up in prison.

Shehaj: Fortunately, the message and attitudes are the same, the US is on the side of SPAK and against corruption. The voices near the government that said the Americans are leaving were dismissed. The truth is that the attention of the US and the EU, even with the IBAR document, shows that there is maximum attention in the fight against corruption and support for SPAK. For me, SPAK is not perfect, but for 35 years there has been impunity, in my opinion, things have already changed.

Lubonja: Balluk's immunity was not lifted and crime has not receded, they are expanding. They are not afraid at all

Shehaj: The fact that they are not afraid is not an argument. I was in the Assembly when they started with Beqaj and others who were not as important as we saw later, we said it is the beginning, not yet justice. We are no longer in the show phase. Veliaj is the acting mayor and has been in prison for 2 years. I am convinced that impunity will end here. If I thought a year ago that Rama could go to trial or end up in prison, today I think this is possible.
