World Cup 2026/ Here is the Germany friendly match calendar

The official list of 26 German players was announced on 21 May 2026. The training camp will begin on 27 May 2026, in the Bavarian resort of Herzogenaurach.

This training camp is designed to lay the physical and tactical foundations before departing for the United States. The intensive sessions will focus on strengthening team cohesion and preparing the squad for the challenges of the tournament.

Friendly matches against Finland and the United States

Germany will play two friendlies before the World Cup begins. On May 31, they will face Finland in Mainz. The match should serve as a dress rehearsal and provide the opponents with useful information to improve their tactical formations.

On June 6, Germany will face the United States in Chicago. The match is scheduled to prepare them for their next match against Ivory Coast, the clear favorites in Group E. The similarities in playing styles between the two teams will allow Nagelsmann to anticipate potential difficulties and implement the right solutions.

Lessons learned from March matches and objectives in Group E

Last March, Germany had already played two friendly matches. A spectacular win against Switzerland (4-3) and a win against Ghana (2-1) confirmed the team's attacking strength. The match against Ghana served as a test before facing Ivory Coast, a direct opponent in Group E.

At the World Cup, Germany will compete in Group E alongside Ivory Coast, Curaçao and Ecuador. The match against Ivory Coast will be the highlight of the group stage, but the matches against Ecuador and Curaçao will be just as important.
