The harmony between the two great "enemies" does not stop/ SP and DP

The unexpected season of harmony between the two great "enemies", the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party, does not stop. Late Thursday evening, the changes to the Assembly's regulations were approved with 100 votes in favor, while MP Redi Muçi, from the Together Movement, voted against, a vote he had declared shortly before the start of voting.

Meanwhile, 35 MPs present did not vote.

The Socialist Party and the Democratic Party have reached consensus on amending the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of Albania in the framework of the Constitutional Court's decision.

The Socialist Party has abandoned its previous proposal that any draft law requested by the EU be reviewed within a week through an accelerated procedure.

The Socialists have also withdrawn from halving the time for discussion in the plenary session for MPs, as well as from the proposal that constitutional institutions not report in the plenary session, thus accepting the DP's position. The Socialists have also withdrawn from the proposal that institutions report only to the Xhafaj commission, agreeing that this reporting should take place in the relevant parliamentary committees.

The parties have also agreed to strengthen parliamentary control through the intervention of the Speaker of the Assembly in cases where institutions do not respond to MPs' requests for information, and that committee chairs, when requested by the parliamentary minority, are obliged to convene committee meetings or hearings with heads of institutions within two days of submitting the request.

Another proposal that the parties have agreed on is that marathon plenary sessions should not last beyond 10:00 PM as has happened so far, but should be interrupted and resumed the following day. Another point that the parties have agreed on is the measure against MPs who are punished for violating the rules of procedure, making this measure suspended if appealed to the Bureau of the Assembly.
