French cinema icon Brigitte Bardot dies at 91

Born in 1934 in Paris, Brigitte Bardot grew up in a wealthy and traditionally Catholic family. Her talent for dancing led to her being accepted to study ballet, securing a place at the Conservatoire de Paris. At the same time, she worked as a model and in 1950, at the age of just 15, she appeared on the cover of Elle magazine.
Her modeling career paved the way for her to film. During an audition, she met Roger Vadim, whom she married in 1952, after turning 18. Initially, she played small roles, but over time she gained more and more attention. In 1955, she starred alongside Dirk Bogarde in the film “Doctor at Sea”, a huge success in the United Kingdom, according to “The Guardian”.
